HBCU Rugby teams finished their first week of action, and it was definitely a great start.
Howard University Women went into to North Carolina and showed that they were picking up right where they left off last year. They would go on to defeat the University of North Carolina, 59-7, in dominant fashion. Howard Women are absolutely getting ready for another dominant season and championship contention.

Prairie View A&M Men opened their Fall season with a match against Stephen F. Austin State University. Prairie View A&M would travel up north, to defeat Stephen F. Austin, 49 – 0. Great way to get the season up and running. Prairie View A&M will play their next game on October 14th.

Lastly, Howard University Men accepted an invite to a last-minute round-robin at Millersville University in Pennsylvania. Despite the last-minute acceptance, Howard University was ready. They did a 3-0 sweep and completely shutout the teams they faced. Howard defeated York College, 44-0; Marywood University, 58-0; and John Hopkins, 31-0.

This week, there are no teams that are active for play. We’re definitely looking forward to what these teams will show us this season.
