HBCU Rugby Classic Date Announced

The HBCU Rugby Classic and Music Festival has officially announced the date of the event in 2023.

The HBCU Rugby Classic and Music Festival will be taking place at Howard University at William H. Greene Stadium on March 31 – April 2, 2023. Hosted with Howard University Rugby program, known as Herd Rugby, this will mark the first time that the HBCU Rugby Classic will take place on the campus of a historically black college and university.

Howard University is one of the premier historically black colleges and universities, located in Washington DC. Howard University is known for its high academics as well as their prestigious alumni such as cultural icons like actors, Chadwick Boseman and Phylicia Rashad, Supreme Court Justice, Thurgood Marshall, US Vice-President Kamala Harris, and writer Ta-Nehsi Coates.

The HBCU Rugby Classic & Music Festival is the premier rugby event highlighting Historically Black Colleges and University rugby programs. Since 2018, the HBCU Rugby Classic has focused on providing a space for spectators and players to celebrate HBCU
and Pan-African culture and recognize opportunities through rugby.
